Zimbabwe Blind Women Trust (ZBWT)

To equip blind women and girls to see and embrace a future filled with hope

What we do

Rehabilitation and skills development
ZBWT recognizes the special needs of blind women and the gaps which occur in their personal skills development especially in the early stages of their lives. The organisation seeks to close this gap by facilitating counseling, mentoring and training to develop personal and social skills of blind women and girls. The rehabilitation and skills development program is also extended to guardians and families of the beneficiaries.
Capacity building
Our organisation builds the capacity of blind women and girls to manage blindness and engage in entrepreneurial activities to improve their lives and contribute to the overall national and global development agenda
Advocacy
ZBWT engages with policymakers in identifying gaps in policy reform and implementation in all areas that affect the rights and welfare of blind women and girls. It also engages the media and other public and social platforms to lobby for the elimination of all forms of discrimination and stigmatization of blind women and girls.
Networking
To achieve maximum coverage and efficacy, ZBWT collaborates and creates partnerships with like minded organisations and institutions at local, regional and international level.
